About us

Our mission since our unofficial beginnings has been to do our little part in getting the word out about an amazing, indescribable, music scene that we gratefully have been witness. Portland, Oregon had been an outlier in the eyes of the music industry since the industry’s beginnings, and that’s OK. It’s really been a good thing. Space can be beautiful and in this case it has given artists a chance to hone their craft and be real in the process. With Portland gaining a reputation of hipness in recent years it has meant that the eyes and ears (and people) have taken note of a place that had a lot going on way before notes were taken. The secret is now out. Secret Sound digs music. We dig independent music. We dig spreading the word and we dig help in spreading that word…..the word of independent Portland music and Secret Sound Recordings.
